• Sowing time: February to March in trays for spring in the plains and Islamabad; late August to September in the plains and Karachi for autumn. Frost-tender.
• Method: Nursery trays; cover seed 0.5–1 cm, keep warm.
• Germination: 6–10 days at 22–26°C.
• Transplanting: At 4–6 leaves, 50–60 cm apart with a tall stake; this vine easily passes head height.
• Harvest: About 65–70 days from transplanting, then non-stop; pick whole trusses as they colour.
• Sun and water: Full sun; even watering to keep the thin-skinned fruit from splitting. F1 hybrid, so buy fresh seed rather than saving your own.
