Statice Seeds

Growing Guide for Pakistan

• Sowing time: September to October in the plains; September in Islamabad; October to November in Karachi.
• Method: Nursery trays; cover seed lightly, 3 mm.
• Germination: 7–14 days at 18–21°C.
• Transplanting: At 4–5 leaves, 25–30 cm apart.
• Flowering: February to May; for drying, cut when sprays are fully coloured and hang upside down in shade.
• Sun and water: Full sun; light water, statice tolerates drought and salty coastal air, a Karachi favourite.
