Salvia Seeds

Grow the classic bedding Salvia with Scarlet King seeds (Salvia splendens). The dependable old favourite: fire-red spikes over dark foliage, thriving in the same Pakistani winter beds it has coloured for decades.

Growing Guide for Pakistan

• Sowing time: September to October in the plains and Karachi; by early September in Islamabad, or wait for February.
• Method: Nursery trays. Press seed into the surface, cover only lightly.
• Germination: 10–14 days at 22–25°C.
• Transplanting: At 4–6 leaves, 25 cm apart.
• Flowering: December to April in mild areas; deadhead spikes for repeat colour.
• Sun and water: Full sun to light afternoon shade; regular water.
