Ranunculus Seeds (F1 Hybrid)

Grow rose-layered Ranunculus from Bloomingdale II F1 seeds (Ranunculus asiaticus). Tissue-paper petals packed in perfect spirals, florist flowers raised at home, and from seed rather than costly corms. A cool-season prize for patient Pakistani gardeners.

Growing Guide for Pakistan

• Sowing time: Late September to October in the plains and Islamabad; November in Karachi. Ranunculus must germinate cool.
• Method: Nursery trays. Cover seed with 3 mm of mix and keep the tray in your coolest shaded spot; above 20°C germination fails. Sealed seed chilled in the refrigerator for a week before sowing helps in warm autumns.
• Germination: 10–15 days at 15–18°C.
• Transplanting: At 3–4 leaves, 20 cm apart.
• Flowering: February to April; plants form small corms you can lift and store for next winter.
• Sun and water: Full winter sun; light, regular water and sharp drainage.
