A vigorous hybrid parsnip that sizes up faster and bigger than standard varieties. Pastinaca sativa 'Warrior' makes long cylindrical roots up to 28 cm with a clean shallow crown, very little thin tail, and a slow taper — so far more of each root is actually usable. Good field resistance to canker. 105–120 days from sowing.

Growing Guide for Pakistan
- Sowing time: Murree, Swat, Quetta and the northern hills February to April — this is where parsnip does best in Pakistan. Punjab plains and Islamabad: sow late September to mid-October and harvest before the March heat. It needs a long cool season.
- Method: Sow 13 mm deep, directly where it will grow — parsnip will not transplant. Use fresh seed; parsnip seed only lasts one year.
- Germination: Slow, around three weeks, at 13–24°C. Never let the soil surface dry out before the seedlings appear — this is the single commonest reason parsnip fails.
- Spacing: Sow about 2.5 cm apart in rows 45–60 cm apart, then thin to 5–7 cm.
- Harvest: 105–120 days. Roots sweeten noticeably after cold weather.
- Sun and water: Full sun and deep, stone-free, loosened soil. Any obstruction and the root forks.
An honest word about where this grows well
Parsnip needs a long, genuinely cool season. In Murree, Swat, Abbottabad or Quetta it is straightforward. In Lahore, Multan or Karachi it is a challenge — you must sow early and you may still be racing the spring heat. We would rather tell you that than sell you a disappointment.
Handle the leaves carefully
Parsnip foliage can cause a skin rash in some people when handled in strong sun. Wear long sleeves when weeding or harvesting on a bright day and wash your arms afterwards.
Not for overwintering
The breeder specifically advises against leaving Warrior in the ground over winter — it grows so vigorously that it becomes oversized and coarse. Lift it when it is ready.
