Grow your own Triple Curled parsley (Petroselinum crispum). Densely ruffled, deep green leaves on a tight compact plant — the classic garnishing parsley, sturdier and longer-standing than the flat-leaf type and far better looking in a pot on the kitchen step.

Growing guide for Pakistan
- Sowing time: Punjab plains (Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan) September to November, and again February to March. Karachi and coastal Sindh October to February. Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar September to October and February to April. Murree, Swat, Abbottabad and Quetta April to June.
- Method: Trays or direct into the bed, seed barely covered with 3–5 mm of fine mix. Most herb seed is small — press it in rather than burying it.
- Germination: 10–21 days at 18–22°C. Herbs are slower off the mark than vegetables; keep the surface damp and do not give up on the tray in week two.
- Spacing: Thin or transplant to 20–30 cm apart, or one plant to a 10-inch pot.
- Sun and water: Full sun to light afternoon shade. Let the top two centimetres dry between waterings — far more herbs are killed by soggy soil than by drought.
- Harvest: about 80–90 days from sowing, then cutting continues for months. Pinch the growing tips regularly: it keeps the plant bushy and stops it running to flower.
- Slow to start: Parsley takes its time to germinate. Soak the seed overnight in warm water and be patient — three weeks is normal.
- Flat-leaf or curled: Curled holds its shape on the plate; flat-leaf has the stronger flavour. Most kitchens want both.

Will this grow in a pot?
Yes. Use a pot of at least 12 inches (30 cm) with drainage holes, one plant per pot, in full sun. A balcony in Lahore or a rooftop in Karachi works well.
How many seeds are in the packet?
Enough for a home garden bed or a run of pots. Sow a few more than you need and keep the strongest seedlings.
