Growing Guide for Pakistan

• Sowing time: September to October in the plains; September in Islamabad; October in Karachi.
• Method: Nursery trays. Surface-sow the fine seed with only a dusting of mix over it.
• Germination: 7–14 days at 20–22°C.
• Transplanting: At 4–6 leaves into pots, baskets or wall edges where the stems can trail, 20 cm apart.
• Display: Decorative bracts from late winter into the heat; cut and hang stems upside down to dry.
• Sun and water: Full sun to light shade; on the dry side, like its kitchen-herb cousins.
