Growing Guide for Pakistan

• Sowing time: February to March in trays in the plains and Islamabad; also September in the plains and Karachi for a cool-season crop in frost-free spots. Chillies are frost-tender.
• Method: Nursery trays; cover seed 0.5 cm and keep warm, chillies germinate slower than tomatoes.
• Germination: 8–15 days at 24–28°C.
• Transplanting: At 5–6 leaves, 45 cm apart.
• Harvest: Green from about 70 days after transplanting, red at 85–90; picking often multiplies the crop.
