Growing Guide for Pakistan

• Sowing time: August to September in trays in the plains (Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan); August in Islamabad; September to October in Karachi.
• Method: Nursery trays. Surface-sow the tiny seed, do not cover; it needs light. Keep constantly moist and shaded.
• Germination: 14–21 days at 18–21°C; celery is famously slow, do not give up.
• Transplanting: At 5–6 leaves, 25 cm apart in rich, moisture-holding soil.
• Harvest: 4–5 months from sowing; cut outer stalks and the heart keeps producing.
• Sun and water: Full winter sun; celery is the thirstiest crop in the winter garden, never let it dry.
