Lisianthus (F1 Tall Double)

Grow rose-like Lisianthus with Echo F1 tall double seeds (Eustoma grandiflorum). Ruffled double blooms on long, strong stems make Echo the premium homegrown cut flower, lasting up to two weeks in the vase. A patient gardener’s project, and worth every day of it.

Growing Guide for Pakistan

• Sowing time: August to September in the plains and Islamabad; September to October in Karachi. Early sowing matters because Lisianthus grows slowly.
• Method: Nursery trays. Surface-sow the pelleted seed and do not cover; it needs light. Mist gently to melt the pellet.
• Germination: 10–15 days at 21–24°C.
• Transplanting: Seedlings sit small for weeks, this is normal. Move to beds or deep pots at 4 true leaves, 15–20 cm apart, disturbing roots as little as possible.
• Flowering: Roughly five months from sowing, February to April.
• Sun and water: Full winter sun; steady, light moisture. Never waterlogged.
