Gerbera Seeds (F1 Dwarf)

Growing Guide for Pakistan

• Sowing time: September to October in the plains; September in Islamabad; October in Karachi. Can also be sown in February.
• Method: Nursery trays. Push each seed in vertically, pointed end down, with the tufted top just at the surface; cover only with a dusting of mix. Sow soon after buying, gerbera seed loses vigour quickly in storage.
• Germination: 7–14 days at 22–24°C.
• Transplanting: Into 20–25 cm pots or beds, keeping the crown at soil level; a buried crown rots.
• Flowering: Four to five months from sowing, then repeatedly for years with care.
• Sun and water: Morning sun and afternoon shade in the plains; water the soil, not the crown.
