Grow your own curly parsley — Extra Triple Curled is the tightly ruffled kind, dense dark green rosettes that hold their shape on a plate and keep cropping all winter. Certified organic seed, ready in around seventy-five days, and it does far better in a pot here than most people expect.

Growing guide for Pakistan
- When to sow: September to November in the plains, and again in February. Parsley is biennial and will crop right through a Punjab winter.
- Sowing: Sow direct 1 cm deep. Be patient — parsley takes two to four weeks to germinate and most people give up on it at day ten. Soaking the seed overnight speeds it up.
- Thinning: Thin to 20 cm. Crowded parsley makes small leaves and bolts sooner.
- Soil and water: Rich, moisture-holding soil and regular water. A dry check sends it straight to seed.
- Position: Full sun in winter; light shade once the weather turns in April.
- Harvest: Cut the outer stems at the base and leave the centre to grow on. Cutting from the top gives you a stump and no regrowth.

Will this grow in a pot?
Yes. A 25 cm pot, two or three plants, in morning sun. Parsley is happier in a pot than most herbs because you can move it out of the April heat.
How many seeds are in the packet?
Enough for a home garden bed or a run of pots. Sow a few more than you need and keep the strongest seedlings.
