• Sowing time: February to March in trays in the plains and Islamabad; September in the plains and Karachi for a frost-free cool-season crop.
• Method: Nursery trays; cover seed 0.5 cm and keep warm.
• Germination: 8–14 days at 24–28°C.
• Transplanting: At 5–6 leaves, 45 cm apart; a light stake helps once fruit loads on.
• Harvest: About 70–75 days from transplanting; pick firm and glossy green, or leave to ripen red and sweeter.
• Sun and water: Full sun with light afternoon shade in the hottest weeks; even moisture prevents blossom-end rot.
