Aster Seeds

Grow classic China Asters from these quality seeds (Callistephus chinensis). Chrysanthemum-like blooms in purples, pinks and whites on upright stems, a beloved cool-season flower for Pakistani beds and one of the easiest cut flowers to raise at home.

Growing Guide for Pakistan

• Sowing time: September to October in the plains; September in Islamabad; October to November in Karachi.
• Method: Nursery trays or direct; cover seed with 5 mm of mix.
• Germination: 7–14 days at 18–21°C.
• Transplanting: At 4–5 leaves, 20–25 cm apart. Do not replant asters in the same spot every year, rotate beds to avoid wilt disease.
• Flowering: January to April.
• Sun and water: Full sun; water at the base and keep leaves dry to prevent fungus.
