Anemone Seeds

Growing Guide for Pakistan

• Sowing time: September to October in the plains and Islamabad; October in Karachi. Anemone germinates in cool soil, so do not rush it in early September heat.
• Method: Nursery trays. Cover seed very lightly; keep the tray in the coolest, shaded spot you have. A week in the refrigerator (seed packet, sealed) before sowing improves results in warm areas.
• Germination: 12–18 days at 15–18°C; slow and uneven is normal.
• Transplanting: At 3–4 leaves, 15–20 cm apart.
• Flowering: February to April.
• Sun and water: Full winter sun; light, regular water and sharp drainage.
